According to Book and Art Promotions Concepts, organisers of the event, NIBAF 2026 is aimed at providing a strategic platform to promote literacy and art, foster dialogue on intellectual property and book business as well as explore ideas towards the proper documentation of Niger Delta heritage.
It would feature book exhibitions, book reading sessions, art exhibitions, workshop sessions on creative writing, mentorship and networking sessions, and the NIBAF Recognition Awards to honour deserving individuals for their remarkable contributions to the development of education and art.
It would also feature two Master Classes: (1) ‘Strategies for Mastering the Art and Business of Writing, Publishing and Sales’ and (2) Copyright and the Imperatives of Talent Monetization in the Digital Age.
The organizers said that the choice of Port Harcourt as NIBAF 2026 host city is informed by the need to consolidate the gains of similar initiatives in the city which made history few years ago as the 2014 UNESCO World Book Capital. They are expected to release full details of the event in the weeks ahead.
