Newly ordained Catholic Priest of the Aba Catholic Diocese, Reverend Father Precious Didacus Uchechukwu Chibuzor, has returned all glory to God Almighty for his successful Priestly Ordination at Christ the King Catholic Cathedral, Aba, on Saturday, July 6, 2024.
Speaking at his first Holy Mass at St. Jude’s Catholic Church, Amapu Ntigha on Sunday, July 7, 2024, Father Chibuzor also appreciated the Catholic Bishop of Aba Diocese, Most Reverend Professor Augustine Ndubeze Echema, his mother, Ezinne Martina Isaac, Parish Priest and members of St. Jude’s Catholic Parish, Amapu Ntigha, the Isaac Nwogwugwu, Israel Ogbuisi, Ekwuribe, and Nwokocha Families among others.
He also thanked the Traditional Prime Minister of Amapu Ntigha and Member Representing Isiala Ngwa Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives, Hon. Ginger Obinna Onwusibe, the Abia State Commissioner for Digital Economy and SMEs, Hon. Matthew C. Ekwuribe, leader and members of the Aba Diocesan Indigenous Catholic Choirs Association (ADICCA), Barr. Regis Achilihu, other choristers, the people of Umuokatu (his home town), Umugaa (his maternal home), Umuerim as well as his friends and well-wishers.
Earlier in his Homily, Rev. Fr. Stephen Ezeji, while thanking God for the success of the Ordination ceremony at CKC Aba the previous day, congratulated the Catholic Diocese of Aba under the able leadership Most Reverend Prof. Echema for a successful event. The Homilist also congratulated all the newly ordained Priests, particularly Rev. Fr. Chibuzor, whom he advised to uphold the values of loyalty and humility for which the Catholic Church is respected worldwide, in line with the teachings of Jesus Christ.
According to him, “Apart from His charge to Christians to love one another, loyalty and humility are among the greatest lessons taught by Christ, and the Catholic Church honours these values as part of its essential pillars. Therefore, as a young Priest, you must endeavour to uphold these values and you must not look down on anybody thinking you have arrived. You have only started and for you to succeed in your career as a Priest, you must submit yourself as a most humble servant of God, the Church, and humanity at large.”
Rev. Father Ezeji accorded special recognition to Ezinne Martina Isaac for having the heart to allow, encourage and support her only child, Fr. Chibuzor, to serve God as a Catholic Priest, saying that she has shown incredible example that is worthy of emulation.
In his goodwill message, Hon. Ginger Onwusibe congratulated the entire Ntigha Clan for having another son of theirs ordained as a Catholic Priest.
In his words, “It is not easy to become a Catholic Priest. It takes years of serious training, extensive studies and exceptional discipline. I congratulate Rev. Fr. Chibuzor, the people of Umuokatu and the entire Ntigha Clan because achievements such as this go beyond the personal level and even the Church. It is an achievement that would surely benefit everyone.” Hon. Onwusibe assured of his continued support to Fr. Chibuzor and prayed for him to rise to greater heights in his career by the grace of God.”
The Parish Priest of St. Jude”s Catholic Church, Amapu Ntigha, Rev. Fr. Fred Nwosu, Rev. Fr. Stephen Ezeji (the Homilist), Rev. Fr. Collins Ebere, Rev. Fr. Ezurike Emmanuel, Rev. Fr. Francis Onuoha and Rev. Fr. Nwachukwu Emmanuel were among the Officiating Priests at the Holy Mass.
Reverend Sisters from the University Sisters of Assumption, Benin, Daughters of Mary Mother of Mercy and other Congregations were also in attendance.
Several community leaders, religious leaders and dignitaries, including Comrade Gideon Nwaji (Deputy Chairman, NUT, Abia State Wing), Hon. Matthew C. Ekwuribe (Abia State Commissioner for Digital Economy and SMEs), Barr. Regis Achilihu, Barr. Ihesinachi Okite and many others also attended the Holy Mass.
