The Abia State PDP 2023 governorship candidate, Chief Okey Ahiwe, has said he is seriously saddened following news reports of the ghastly accident that occurred at Ogbor Hill, Aba on Tuesday November 14, 2023, claiming the lives of some persons and injuring others when the driver of an articulated vehicle lost control.
Chief Ahiwe, while expressing profound sympathy with families of the deceased, prayed for the quick recovery of those injured and harped on the need for effective traffic control measures to prevent such heartbreaking occurrences in the future.
In his words, “There is an urgent need for very strict control measures regarding the periods, day and night, when articulated vehicles are allowed access on our roads, particularly within the towns. It is also imperative to raise the profile of public enlightenment on safety in its full spectrum, as well as enforcement of compliance generally with safety codes and regulations.”
Chief Ahiwe further prayed that God would comfort the families of those involved in the accident.
