Yesterday, the Nigeria President, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, through his director of communication, listed the appointment of Service Chiefs, as approved by the President.

For the starters, Service Chiefs, are key security heads of a Nation. They are the top echelon and coordinates the security personnel and formations of these various military arms of Government.

Indeed, this is a departure from the highly insensitive, parochial, narrow and blinkered style of the out gone gestapo leadership of Gen Mohammed Buhari.

Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide Youth Wing, under the irrepressible leadership of Mazi Barr Obasi Onu, commends Asiwaju, for his Nationalism, loyalty and devotion to the nation-state, which surpasses other individual or group interests.

We Salute the appointment of our son and brother, Rear Adm Emmanuel Ikechukwu Ogalla, as the Chief of Naval Staff, and other Service Chiefs. It is our belief that they will deploy cutting edge solutions in tackling insecurity in our country.

However, we are also mindful of the much needed cohesion and interelatedeness of these sister security agencies, with a focus on Civilian Military Relationship (CMR)

  1. We explicitly demand that the President, accords these Generals the full solidarity and cooperation needed to nip insecurity in the bud, especially tackling the insurgence of sea pirates in our waterways.
  2. That the President should, as a matter of urgency, mobilize security personnel to all the major markets in Lagos State, where Igbo traders are unduly victimized.

3.We demand that more slots be allocated to sons and daughters of Igbo land (Youths), in tandem with our ENUGU 2023 resolution.

  1. That the Nigeria Police/Nigeria Army should desist from senseless brutalization of innocent Igbo youths.
  2. Lastly, reiterates our unimpeachable stand, that our son, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and other Igbo youths detained be released from different dungeons across the country.
