The attention of the leadership of the Asa Liberation Movement (ALM) has been drawn to a publication circulating in the public domain alleging that the Movement has selected Engr. Adinigwe Ugochukwu Nwoke of the Labour Party as its preferred consensus candidate for the Ukwa East/Ukwa West Federal Constituency ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The Asa Liberation Movement hereby categorically refutes and disclaims any assertion that it has formally adopted or endorsed any candidate for the 2027 general elections.
The publication in question does not represent the official position of the Movement and should not be construed as an authoritative statement of its political decisions. We therefore urge members of the public, our supporters, political stakeholders, and the good people of Asa to disregard the said report as an official communication from ALM.
For the avoidance of doubt, the Asa Liberation Movement has not formally adopted any candidate for the Ukwa East/Ukwa West Federal Constituency. Any claim suggesting otherwise is premature, misleading, and inconsistent with the Movement’s official position.
ALM is a movement founded on consultation, unity, collective responsibility, and the genuine pursuit of the political and developmental interests of the Asa people. Decisions of such political significance must follow the appropriate internal processes and receive the necessary formal approval of the Movement’s leadership before they can be communicated as official positions.
Consequently, no individual, group, or publication should presume to announce or attribute a formal endorsement to the Movement without the requisite authorisation from its recognised leadership.
We strongly caution against the circulation of unverified information capable of creating unnecessary tension, division, or misunderstanding among our members and the general public. We urge all stakeholders to exercise restraint, verify information before sharing it, and rely exclusively on duly authorised communications from the Movement.
The leadership of ALM remains committed to a transparent and credible consultative process that places the collective interests of the Asa people above personal ambitions or partisan considerations.
Our position is clear: no candidate has been formally adopted by the Asa Liberation Movement at this time. Any official decision regarding candidate adoption or endorsement will be communicated to the public through the appropriate and authorised channels.
We therefore call on all members, supporters, political leaders, and stakeholders to disregard any contrary report presented as the Movement’s official decision.
The Asa Liberation Movement stands for truth, unity, due process, and the collective progress of our people. We will not compromise these principles.
Signed:
Comr. Precious Nwagboso (MrCute)
Acting Secretary/Publicity Secretary
