Fellow Nigerians, Abians, and Beloved Muslims,
As we come together to commemorate Nigeria’s 63rd independence anniversary and celebrate the 2023 Eid El Malud, I extend my warmest wishes to each and every one of you.
This momentous occasion reminds us of the remarkable journey our great nation has travelled since gaining independence in 1960. It is a time to reflect on our shared history, the progress we’ve made, and the challenges we continue to face. Let us renew our commitment to unity, peace, and progress as we work tirelessly to build a better Nigeria for all.
Let me specially felicitate my brothers and sisters from Abia, God’s Own State, who have, through the ingenuity of innovation, industry and enterprise continued to contribute their blood, sweat and tears literally to the growth and advancement of Nigeria. As long as God remains the Lord over our state, I want to assure you that your labours for the good of Nigeria will not be in vain.
To our Muslim brothers and sisters celebrating Eid El Malud, may this joyous occasion bring you closer to the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and fill your hearts with love, compassion, and spiritual fulfillment.
Let us remember that our diversity is our strength, and together, we can overcome any obstacle that stands in our path towards a brighter and more prosperous future. I encourage all Nigerians to join hands in the spirit of unity and cooperation, working towards a Nigeria that embodies the ideals of justice, equality, and prosperity for all.
Happy Independence Day, Nigeria! Eid Mubarak to our Muslim community!
Yours in unity and progress,
Prof. Gregory Ibe, PhD, OFR (Enyi Abia)
