Renowned businessman, philanthropist and socialite, Hon. Chief Collins Maduka Balogu (Kpakpando 1) has thrown light on the reasons behind his aspiration to serve as Deputy Mayor of Prince Elite Club of Nigeria.

In a chat with Ojemba magazine, the Port Harcourt based logistics and supply chain expert who is also Chairman/CEO of Macjenan Nigeria Limited (a subsidiary of Macdallas Group), said that he has offered himself with humility to serve as Deputy Mayor of Prince Elite Club of Nigeria with the primary objective to contribute his quota at a slightly higher executive level to the growth and development of the respected Club.

In his words “My primary objective for offering myself to serve as Deputy Mayor of Prince Elite Club of Nigeria is to make greater contributions, at a higher level, to the growth and development of the prestigious Club. I joined the Club in 2013, which is about 11 years ago. Since then I have always been an active member and I have demonstrated remarkable passion to help in making the Club greater than I met it. I have served as Assistant Secretary (on appointment). In 2022, I served as Secretary of the Silver Jubilee Anniversary Committee. I am a former Chairman of the Membership Screening Committee and the Committee did its best during my tenure, in line with our rules and regulations, to ensure that we maintain premium standards in selecting new members that would add value to the Club.”

Continuing, Hon. Chief Balogu told Ojemba magazine that currently, he is the Deputy Chairman of the Membership Screening Committee as well as the Chairman, Historical Overview Committee. “From 2017 till date, I have served two terms as the National Public Relations Officer of the Club, and I have contributed to shaping and sustaining its enviable image. The Club Secretariat is nearly completed and my colleagues can attest to the fact that I also helped in the fund raising efforts. Thus, I have the pedigree, character and capacity to serve as Deputy Mayor of our esteemed Club, and I pledge with every sense of humility and responsibility, to work with the Mayor that would be elected, along with other members of the Executive Council to lift the Club to greater heights. I believe in the values of accountability, transparency, accessibility and good governance, and those are pillars based on which we can lift our Club to exceptionally great heights.”

While maintaining that leadership springs from knowledge, outstanding vision, humility and quality service in line with the objectives of an organization, Hon. Chief Collins Maduka Balogu appealed for the support and prayers of his fellow Club members, assuring that if elected as Deputy Mayor of Prince Elite Club of Nigeria, he would work very hard to justify their confidence in his ability to deliver superior service.
