1. In line with the ongoing primary elections across the State, the Abia State Police Command remains committed to maintaining peace, law and order in all political parties’ primaries while remaining non-partisan, and this follows the earlier engagement of the command with members of the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC), before the primaries, during which political stakeholders were advised to conduct their affairs peacefully and in accordance with the extant laws.
  2. Adequate security measures and strategies have been emplaced to prevent any breakdown of law and order.
  3. Today, 30/05/2026, the Commissioner of Police, Abia State Command, CP Danladi Isa, personally led a confidence-building and security monitoring team across key Labor party primary election venues in both Umuahia and Aba, just as he did for other parties that have had their primaries.The team visited the following locations: Labour Party Secretariat, Ndume Primary School, World Bank Area, Ogbonnaya Onu Polytechnic, School of Health Technology, Ngwa Road, Girls Secondary School, Asa Road and Cemetery Market Area Aba
  4. The monitoring was aimed at assessing the security situation, reassuring residents and political stakeholders of a peaceful and safe environment. The Commissioner of Police reiterates the Command’s unwavering commitment to the protection of lives and property and the maintenance of law and order throughout the State.
