Bishop Emeka Nwankpa, the General Overseer of Chapel of Faith Bible Assembly International and Accord Party’s governorship candidate in Abia State in the 2023 general election, has congratulated Senator John Azuta-Mbata, Chief Emeka Sibeudu and other newly-elected leaders of Ohaneze Ndigbo.
In his congratulatory message to the new leaders of the apex sociocultural body of Ndigbo, the cleric urged them to use their good offices to advance the cause of the Igbo, and ensure the release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, a situation, he believes, will help in restoring peace to the southeast.
Bishop Nwankpa said he was particularly happy with the decision of the body to zone the presidency of the body to Rivers State, a move he said will bring Ndi Igbo together, irrespective of the geopolitical zones they belong.
Senator John Azuta-Mbata, who formerly represented Rivers East Senatorial District, was, on Friday, elected the new President-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, with Chief Emeka Sibeudu, a former Deputy Governor of Anambra State, emerging as the Secretary-General, during the selection of new executives for the apex socio-cultural organisation, held at the Old Government Lodge in Enugu.
