The Digital drive currently ongoing in Imo State was once again recognised as His Excellency Senator Hope Uzodinma, the governor of the state, defeated his colleagues to win the Digital Governor of the Year Award.
In a glamorous National Information Technology Merit Award (NITMA) organised by the Nigeria Computer Society (NCS) in Lagos on Thursday where key players and stakeholders in the ICT and digital space gathered to recognise those who have continued to impact the society leveraging information and communication technology, Governor Uzodinma who has continued to see digital evolution as a means of bridging unemployment gap, defeated other governors to win the covered award.
Nominated alongside Governor Uzodinma were Governors Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang of Plateau State, Umar Namadi of Jigawa State and Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia of Benue State.
Speaking after receiving the award, Dr. Chimezie Amadi, the Imo State Commissioner for Digital Economy and e-Governance, who represented the governor, appreciated the award and said it shows the unwavering commitment of Governor Uzodinma in leveraging the power of technology to drive development in the state
He said; “We are deeply honored to accept the Award on behalf of HIS Excellency, Dist. Sen. Hope Uzodimma, from a highly regarded body like the Nigerian Computer Society.
“For us in Imo State, we cherish this Award as an endorsement of HIS Excellency’s unwavering commitment to leveraging the transformative power of technology in driving socio-economic progress.
