Comrade Ike Anyatonwu was born 50 years ago into the family of Late Hon. Josiah Aloh & Mrs. Matilda Anyatonwu of Umuosi Village in the present Isiahaba Autonomous Community, Isiala Ngwa South Local Government Area of Abia State.
The young and vibrant Ike Anyatonwu started his early childhood up bring with his father, who was a Headmaster having lost the mother to death early in life. He attended Umuihie Primary School, Okpuhie Primary School, and completed his Primary School Education at Umuapu Central School, all in Isiala Ngwa South.
As the last child of the family and daddy’s pet, the young Ike Anyatonwu was always with the father wherever duty called. After his primary education, Ike Anyatonwu proceeded to Okporo Ahaba Secondary School, where he obtained his WASSCE and later secured admission into Lagos State University Ojo Campus, where he studied Economics. At present, Comrade Ike Anyatonwu is rounding off his Law Degree Programme at Abia State University, Umuahia Campus.
A man of grace, an administrator per excellence. Comrade Ike Anyatonwu has continued to enjoy the unquantifiable and manifold blessings of God.
Comrade Ike Anyatonwu started his political career as Abia Youth Leader of United Nigeria People’s Party (UNPP) between 2003-2006.
The then Governor of Abia State, Chief T.A Orji discovered the sterling leadership qualities of Comrade Ike Anyatonwu and appointed him the Transition Committee Chairman of Isiala Ngwa South L.G.A on 29th August, 2010 – position he held till 1st October, 2011.
He has served as a two-time Chairman, Park Harmonization in Abia State between 2012-2013 and 2013-2014.
He has also served as Deputy General Manager, Abia State Environmental Protection Agency (ASEPA) Aba Zone; Special Adviser to the Governor on Youth Mobilization and Empowerment; Abia State Commissioner for Youth Development between 13th November 2017 – 11th February, 2019.
Owing to his experience in Local Government Administration, the immediate past Governor of Abia State, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu reappointed Comrade Ike Anyatonwu as the Transition Committee Chairman Isiala Ngwa South L.G.A on 11th February, 2019 which ran through 1st December, 2019.
Comrade Ike Anyatonwu for the first time, presented himself for election as Executive Chairman of Isiala Ngwa South in December, 2020 and was unanimously elected by the entire people of Isiala Ngwa South. He was elected unopposed for the first time in the history of local government election in Isiala Ngwa South and the state at large.
As Executive Chairman of Isiala Ngwa South L.G.A, his colleagues elected him as the Chairman of Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), Abia State Chapter.
On 29th May 2023, Comrade Anyatownu resigned his position as the Transition Committee Chairman of Isiala Ngwa South Local Government Area following the expiration of the Okezie Ikpeazu administration, a gesture that received wide spread commendation from many quarters.
Indeed, the Lord has been so faithful to him. He has never left him without testimonies. It could be recalled that on Friday 19th October, 2019 Comrade Ike Anyatonwu was involved in a ghastly motor accident that nearly claimed his life. We shall continue to praise Jehovah who saved his precious life from the ugly incident.
Undoubtedly, God saved his life for him to continue his good work in his committed efforts to humanitarian ideals and consistent role towards the development of Isiala Ngwa South and our dear State in general.
Comrade Ike Anyatonwu is a Fellow of Institute of Corporate Leaders and Public Administrators and also a Fellow of Chartered Institute of Corporate Management and Strategic Planning.

A philanthropist of note, who is noted for his composure and respect for every person with his ever smiling face,
Comrade Anyatownu, popularly called EMETUMBA by his numerous friends and admirers has over 68 Chieftaincy titles cut across Igbo land which include: Emetumba Ndi Igbo, Oduduboribo Ndi Ngwa, Omeudo Isieketa, Odozi Obodo of Nneise Nvosi, among others.
A devout Christian of the Catholic faith, Comrade Ike Anyatonwu is married to Lady Victoria Ike Anyatonwu, and their union is blessed with two wonderful children, Nnaemeka Achilus and Ikennaya Mustard.
Today, Wednesday 21st July, 2023, this illustrious son of Umuosi has turned 50 years to the Glory of God.
