The Abia State PDP Governorship Candidate in the 2023 general elections, Chief Okechukwu Ambrose Ahiwe, has enjoined Muslim faithful in Abia State and Nigeria at large to earnestly pray for the stability of our democracy, work towards economic growth and strive within the ambit of extant laws to promote peaceful coexistence, as they mark this year’s Eid- El- Kabir celebrations.
In a statement made available to newsmen, Chief Ahiwe enjoined all Muslim brethren nationwide to explore the spiritual benefits of Ramadan, which promotes the virtues of love, tolerance, and peace.
Chief Ahiwe charged Nigerians to use this period as a time of sober reflection, noting that Nigerians are presently passing through several challenges but expressed faith that the country can get out of it’s socio – economic quagmire if we are guided by the teachings of Allah as enshrined in the Holy Quran, particularly on peaceful co-existence, as nothing can be achieved where there is no peace.
He maintained that if the core values of Godliness are dutifully implemented in our lives, the issues of greed, corruption, kidnapping, militancy and other social vices would be drastically reduced if not entirely eliminated
Chief Okey Ahiwe therefore urged Muslims in Abia State to remain peaceful and tolerant, continually pray for the sustenance of democracy and good governance in Nigeria, and build bonds of unity for the benefit of the country and humanity at large.
