The Abia State PDP 2023 governorship candidate, Chief Okey Ahiwe rejoiced with Abians, particularly Christians on the commemoration of the birth of Jesus Christ.
In his Christmas message, Chief Ahiwe urged Abians to use the Christmas season for prayers, meditations and sober reflections, more than wild celebrations.
According to him, “The best way to celebrate Christ is to emulate Him and model our lives as practical examples of His teachings. The Bible tells us that Jesus Christ is the Divine fountain of love, peace, humility, selflessness and humanism. It would be tantamount to hypocrisy if we embark on wild Christmas celebrations without ensuring that our lives reflect the core values embedded in the work and teachings of Jesus Christ. Importantly, our young ones must be thought that Christmas is not really about ostentatious display of trending fashion in material acquisition, neither is it about exhibiting any form of exuberance. To emulate Christ and live by His examples is an obligation we must strive to fulfill, not just in honour of Christmas but as our guiding principles in life.”
Chief Ahiwe prayed that the peace and love of Christ would continue to abide with Abians and their loved ones all through the Christmas season and beyond.
