The Executive Council of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) Abia State chapter on the 20th of February, 2024, paid a courtesy visit to the Commissioner of Police Abia State Command.
During the visit, the Association, led by their President, Comrade Prince Jacob Nwaoma, extended gratitude to the Police Command for their tireless efforts and proactive stance in addressing past challenges. Additionally, they shared their concerns and present challenges with the Commissioner of Police.
The Commissioner of Police, Kenechukwu Onwuemelie and his Management team warmly welcomed the students. Addressing them, The CP intimated them on the need to promptly report the misconduct of any officers to the Complaint Response Unit, emphasizing the command’s commitment to accountability and transparency.
The CP urged the students as a body to creatively brainstorm and peacefully attend to internal challenges without necessarily resorting to violence. He urged them to refrain from taking laws into their own hands, reminding them to uphold the law by remaining law-abiding citizens at all times.
