Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu, CON on Sunday, June 1, 2025, inaugurated more than 20,000 members of the Renewed Hope Partners in Abia State, Strengthening grassroots support for President Tinubu across all political Wards in the State.

The event which attracted the presence of notable political leaders in the South East and beyond, held at the Bende Township Stadium, Bende LGA, Abia State.

Rt. Hon. Kalu, who described the historic event as a movement beyond politics, used the opportunity to enumerate President Bola Tinubu’s achievements and underscored the President’s favourable disposition to the South East Region.

In his words, “Today marked another historic moment in Bende, Abia State, as I inaugurated over 20,000 members of the Renewed Hope Partners (RHP), Abia State Chapter – a powerful grassroots initiative to ensure that the fruits of the renewed hope agenda is reaped by every community across the South East and beyond.

“This is more than politics. This is a movement anchored on real progress and development, a celebration of democracy and visionary leadership. From stabilizing our economy to restoring investor confidence and rolling out bold infrastructural projects across the nation, President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda has, so far, delivered tangible results.
“Under his leadership, Nigeria recorded a 3.84% GDP growth in Q4 2024. Inflation has dropped from 34.6% to 23.71%, food prices are falling, the FX market is unified, and investor confidence is steadily rising. These are not just statistics, they are proof that this administration is laying a solid foundation for national renewal.
“In the South East, the long-awaited establishment of the South East Development Commission (SEDC) heralds a new era of inclusion and regional progress — nearly 50 years after the civil war — fulfilling the promise of reconstruction, rehabilitation, and reconciliation made to the region.
“While inaugurating the Renewed Hope Partners, Abia State Chapter, I charged them to serve as ambassadors of this national transformation, to be the voice of democracy and the bridge between government and the people.
“Let us not forget: Hope is not just a slogan, it is a decision. And progress is not a gift, it is the result of sacrifice, resilience, and unity of purpose.
