The Poets in Nigeria Initiative is thrilled to announce the 3rd edition of its annual Cross Country Poetry Celebration, scheduled to take place in over 32 locations across Nigeria on Saturday 26th October, 2024.
This year’s celebration promises to be an unforgettable experience, featuring a diverse lineup of renowned poets, spoken word artists, and emerging talents from across Nigeria. The event aims to promote the art of poetry, foster literary exchange, and celebrate the rich cultural heritage of Nigeria.
Under the theme, ‘The Power and Pleasure of Poetry’, the event features a Keynote Address by renowned poet and academic, Professor Niyi Osundare, a special performance by the Guest Spoken Word Poet, Dike Chukwumerije, readings, performances, panel discussions centred on the theme, Open Mic Session, as well as Recognition Awards for outstanding contributions to poetry and Nigerian literature in general.
