Copyright Society of Nigeria (COSON), Nigeria’s biggest copyright collective management organization, condoles with the family of late COSON frontline member, great musician and progenator of Ozimba, the late Tony Grey on the demise of his wife, Mrs Gladys Grey who passed on the 11th of June, 2024.
Gladys Grey’s departure from this world is undoubtedly a great loss to the family and the entire showbiz community. Her contributions to the success of her late husband’s music career will forever be remembered and cherished.
Tony Grey, the defacto Minister of Showbiz in Warri, Delta State, was everyone’s delight in his lifetime. His evergreen songs such as ‘ She is My Love’, ‘Ije Udo’, ‘My message’, ‘Tribute to late Marvin Gay’, ‘ Come back Love’, etc, continue to be cherished by his many fans.
Speaking on the phone with Houston Grey, Tony Grey’s first son, COSON Chairman, Chief Tony Okoroji, said that he had called to express the condolences of the thousands of COSON members across the country.
Said Chief Okoroji, “In life, your father was a solid COSON member, a great musician, and a personal friend. At COSON, we do not forget the family of our members even in death. You will recall that on June 30, 2017, I came directly to Warri from my hospital bed because I had to be with your family at the burial of your father, who was a special person. The passing of your mum is like the loss of a dear auntie. May her gentle soul rest in eternal peace. “
