Bishop Emeka Nwankpa, the governorship candidate of the Accord Party in Abia State in the 2023 general election, and General Overseer of the Chapel of Faith Bible Assembly International, has reacted to the signing into law of the South East Development Commission Bill by President Bola Tinubu.

Bishop Emeka Nwankpa, who described the signing of the bill into law as a bold step towards addressing the developmental challenges of the southeast, praised Rt Hon Ben Kalu and all the Federal Lawmakers of the South East extraction for taking the bold initiative.

While commending President Bola Tinubu for speedly assenting to the bill, the revered cleric passionately appealed to President Bola Tinubu to use his good offices and influence as the commander-in-chief to heed to the appeals for the release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.

The bill, which sought the creation of the Commission, was sponsored by Hon Ben Kalu with the support of all the lawmakers in the House of Representatives from the southeast. The aim of the bill was the establishment of a commission that will be charged with the responsibility of receiving and managing funds from the federation account for the purposes of tackling the ecological problems and any other related environmental and developmental challenges in the southeast states of Abia, Imo, Enugu, Anambra and Ebonyi.
