Abia State Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu has offered a cash prize of ONE MILLION NAIRA (₦1,000,000) to Local Primary Health Workers in Aba North (₦500,000), Bende (₦300,000) and Isiala Ngwa North (₦200,000) for their speedy, successful registration and integration into the Abia TeleHealth Support Network.
A release endorsed by the Consultant, Abia TeleHealth Project, Dr Omas Ubiame says the gesture which is in line with the Governor’s mandate to leverage telecommunication in order to guarantee quality and universal healthcare service delivery to Abians, also disclosed that the Abia TeleHealth Support Network is a simple remote platform that allows the local health workers 24 hours access to a team of qualified medical doctors who provides them with timely and reliable supervisory clinical support.
According to the release, the Governor by this recognition appreciates the local health workers in these 3 LGAs for being the first, second and third LGAs to be completely integrated with the support platform while encouraging Local health workers from the remaining 14 LGA’s to quicken their strides towards ensuring that they fully come onboard the TeleHealth Support Network in record time, to enable them continue delivering optimum quality healthcare services to the people.
