It is not all the time that humanity is blessed with that precious child, who fears God with every might, the one who cares more than the next person, the one whose most compelling character trait is overwhelming empathy for the sudbued, the one who shares without bitterness, lover of humanity, the one who is always duty bound to do the will of God, the handmaid of God. Yes! That’s Engineer Enyinnaya Chima Nwafor (Nana), whose birthday invites us to appreciate God for His immeasurable goodwill.
Nana Nwafor has been competing with himself, to outdo himself in the thankless service to humanity. When he established the EACH ONE AID ONE FOUNDATION, he was keeping to a solemn promise to impact lives in a manner yet unprecedented. Today, EACH ONE AID ONE FOUNDATION has reached out to virtually all the nooks and crannies of Abia, becoming the most viable partner for improved health, quality education, workers’ welfare, booming agriculture and the central hub for entrepreneurial skill acquisition. We speak for the thousands of the elderly who have benefited from the medical outreach programmes of Nana’s Foundation, receiving free medical treatments for specialist ailments, establishing special funds for RENAL DISEASES, providing a veritable platform for training Abia Youths on choice skills, ensuring most importantly that these youths receive non – refundable start – up funds for their businesses. Nana’s EACH ONE AID ONE FOUNDATION has for a long time and still counting, taken the welfare of Civil servants personal. This is in appreciation of the unique roles these workers play in the overall development of our economy. The farmers in Abia have benefitted immensely from the magnanimity of the Foundation even as students across the State have beautiful stories to tell about the place of Nana in their hearts.
Today, we are celebrating courage, determination and unequivocal belief in the progress of Abia State. While many talk about love for State, Nana demonstrates his love in very clear, compelling and adorable ways. Engr Nwafor, the serial entrepreneur has nearly 80% of his business investments sited in Abia State, employing thousands of Abians in a business conglomerate that cuts across manufacturing, mining, hospitality management, real estate, agriculture and human capital development. These businesses have in no small way helped to contribute to the ultimate aim of making Abia, the fastest growing State economy..
Today, we are celebrating a man who proved that one can play politics without mudslinging, bitterness and resentment. Apart from applying creativity in repositioning a relatively unknown YOUNG PROGRESSIVES PARTY (YPP), running the most peaceful and rancour insulated Gubernatorial campaigns of the Party, Engr. Nwafor proved that there are politicians who submit wholly to the will of God. Not only that Nana was able to make a mark, wining two Assembly seats and coming third ahead of other old and bigger parties, he showed maturity, yet unprecedented in the history of Abia Guber politics by ensuring that the winner is not distracted with litigation. When we say Nana has an excellent spirit, we refer to his ability to promote peace, equity and justice. Perhaps, the Nana model will become handy for all politicians who fear God, love Abia in unapologetic terms and demonstrate virtues that are worthy of commendation.
