Multi-talented author and frontline literary activist, Awele Ilusanmi is set to be honoured with an Award of Excellence for her outstanding contributions to education development in Lagos State.
The prestigious Award being conferred on her by Trinity Writers and Publishers Network (also known as Christian Writers Association of Nigeria, CWAN) has been described as a significant milestone recognizing her longstanding commitment to promoting education, reading culture and the book industry in general.
A letter confirming the Award, jointly signed by the Chairperson of CWAN, Lagos State Chapter, Dr. Kelicha Ochonogor and its Coordinator, Dr. Olusegun Akinmuyisitan, stated that Ilusanmi’s tireless efforts, innovative approaches and passion for learning have improved student outcomes and academic achievement, enhanced teacher training and academic development, fostered collaborative partnerships with educational institutions and stakeholders, and advanced educational research and innovation.
The letter further said: “Your mentoring and scholarships for the less privileged demonstrate exceptional leadership and vision. This Award recognizes your outstanding work and positive influence in the education sector. We appreciate your unwavering commitment to shaping future generations”.
Known for her popular motivational mantra, ‘I See Only Possibilities’, Awele Mary Ilusanmi holds a Masters Degree in Publishing Studies from the Stephen F. Austin State University, Texas, USA. She is a literary agent with Publishizer – a literary crowd-funding company based in New York, and she currently mentors over 500 authors locally and internationally.
She is also the Founder of Book Marketing Class Africa (BMACA) as well as the President and Co-Founder of Literary Authors Cooperative Multipurpose Society of Nigeria, with the core objectives to help writers become successful authors, get international publishing deals and build remarkable author brands as model ‘authorpreneurs’.
