The Abia State PDP 2023 governorship candidate, Sir Okey Ahiwe has congratulated the newly elected Abia State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Elder Abraham Amah, and new members of the State Working Committee (SWC).
Elder Amah was declared as the duly elected State Chairman of the Party following a keenly contested election held in Umuahia on November 3, 2024 in which he secured a total number of 1, 264 votes to clinch the first position while his closest rival got 395 votes.
In his congratulatory message, Sir Ahiwe enjoined the new State Chairman to make inclusivity the policy thrust of his administration and engage with stakeholders at all levels to evolve new paradigms of internal democracy, reconciliation, unity, renewed faith, and confidence in the Party to promote the interests of all Abians.
While appreciating the delegates to the State Congress for ensuring a peaceful process, Sir Ahiwe called on all PDP faithful to come together and support the new State Working Committee to help them drive the task of repositioning the Party.
In his words, “Now is the time for everyone to join hands in rebuilding our great Party. We must migrate from a futile psychology of defeat and renew our collective faith in the prospects of a greater tomorrow for all Abians, which we can only achieve with persistent pursuit of liberty and social justice.”
He prayed that God would guide and protect the newly elected Party officials as they settle down to confront the challenges ahead.
