On a recent courtesy visit to Hon. Mrs Ifeoma Thompson, Special Adviser to the Governor of Abia State on Poverty Alleviation and Vulnerable Groups, the Face of Afrique Styles team led by the CEO of Afrique Styles & Concepts Amb. Umah-Kalu Jessey Afrique received a warm welcome and pledge of full support for their upcoming event “FACE OF AFRIQUE STYLES & Africa Personality Awards 2023′ slated to hold on Sunday, 10th December, 2023 at Mary’s Garden, Confidence Hotel, Umuahia by 5pm.
Hon. Mrs Thompson, a strong advocate for women empowerment, emphasized the importance of capacity building for women, stating that “when you build a woman, you have built a nation.”
In a demonstration of the commitment of the state government to the event, The wife of the Executive Governor of Abia State, Her Excellency Lady Priscilla Otti, through the office of the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Vulnerable Groups and Poverty Alliviation, Mrs Ifeoma Thompson donated a large quantity of sanitary pads to support the girls’ pet project. This generous act highlights her understanding of the challenges faced by young women and her dedication to improving their lives.
Hon. Mrs Thompson’s passion for women empowerment extends beyond her official role. She is a respected voice in the community, known for her insights and her commitment to making a difference, positively.

The Contestants in the Face of Afrique Styles Pageant have already taken significant steps towards their empowerment. They have acquired certificates in Google Digital Marketing Course and Project Management Certificate Course. These certifications will provide them with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in the digital age.
In addition to these certifications, the girls will also participate in a variety of self-development and capacity-building programs during the Reality Camp and after the event. These programs will include computer training at BEMS GROUP, business development at HIREME AFRICA, Human Capacity Development by IG-HUB and a couple of entrepreneurship certificate programs.
Through these programs, the girls will gain the skills and confidence they need to become successful entrepreneurs. They will learn how to develop business ideas, create marketing plans, and manage their finances. They will also have the opportunity to network with other entrepreneurs and potential investors.
The Face of Afrique Styles program is more than just a beauty pageant. It is an investment in the future of young women in Abia State. By providing them with the skills and resources they need, we are helping them to break the cycle of poverty and create a brighter future for themselves and their communities.
